Back

lördag, 3 juli, 2010

This season has been strange for me. A knee injury after falling and hitting it into a rock stopped me from EOC and WC (NORTH). And just after getting rid of the knee problems I twisted a foot on Jukola and it almost stopped me from our selection races. At least I was able to run the sprint yesterday, don’t know about the middle and long yet…

Back on track;)

This wednesday I started with some easy running again since the twisted ankle on Jukola, and before Jukola I hasn’t been able to run continuously since midd May. So after yesterdays 2nd place in the sprint selections I feel satisfied to be back again.

I been doing almost only rollerskiing and some rowing the last one and a half month and still I was able to keep the same speed as Øystein Kvaal Østerbø and Jerker Lysell. I did almost 20 seconds on a stupid mistake in the end, letting go of the concentration and lost the first place against Lysell. But at the moment I don’t care much, I’m happy that I could run. Feels motivating knowing I could hold the same speed almost without any running recently.

Now I’m hoping to stay free from injuries and being able to run better and and more offensive as my twisted foot gets better.

No EOC, training instead

måndag, 24 maj, 2010

Yesterday I took the obvius decision to not go to EOC. I hit my knee into a rock last Sunday on Elitserien and after that I have only been able to run once and that was not painfree experience

.

The last days my knee has not improved so I had to decline. Instead I’m home training whatever I can do at the moment (rollerski, rowing with one leg, strenght etc.) If everything goes as planed I’m back running next week and hopefully I can participate on the Swedish team camp in Trondheim begining 9th of June.

That’s the plan, if it goes as planned;)

No Trondheim

tisdag, 4 maj, 2010

Today it was ment that we should have travelled to Trondheim with the national team for WOC preparations. But due to the reports we got about the snow conditions we canceled and I’m home training instead. I prefer skiing on snow and when I run orienteering I prefer it’s gone…

10mila was quite disappointing for the team with a 20th place. We had a harch start and I think I can say that the selfconfidence disapeared a bit in the team after that. The happy surprice was that the second team did good and finished 78th and some of the youngsters did really good races!

I run the last leg and was quite motivated to run and pick some places. Had quite many smal misstakes but felt quite ok physically. The map was huge and I had some problems to fold the map and stay in touch with my orienteering. Still an ok race, surprisingly just 40 sek after Daniel Hubmann who was fastest.

On the Friday before 10mila was the first Elitserie competition for me this season, a sprint i Norrköping. Made a big misstake in the begining and never got into the race, stressed and made small misstakes. Havn’t run any sprints this season and need some more high speed orienteering untill I can start making results on that distance. Got an 11th place, 1.07 after Daniel Hubmann who outclassed the opponents.

This weekend: 10-mila and Elitserie sprint

onsdag, 28 april, 2010

The snow hasn’t still given up it’s existens, due to all climate changes it refuses to totally disapear from the forests around Borlänge. It’s runnable but I wouldn’t cry if it all would melt.

I had a shorter camp with the club from friday to monday the past week in the Kålmården forest. We runn the Stigtomta relay and after some good legs and some not so good ones I was sent out on the last leg on 12th possition. Had a quite good run and it felt ok physicly after some tough training. In the end I tried to speed up but lost some concentration and made 1.30 just before the spectator controll and got catched buy a group of runners (Sedevy, Kowalsky and Runesson) that I catched and got away from a little earlier. Got beaten big time in the finish bye Kowalsky and runn in to a 9th possition.

Still an ok feedback that my legs starts to adapt to running and running in the forest. Looking forward to this weekend and the first bigger competitions for this year but still a lot of training and it will continue to be like that for a while. I need the hard training to be able to fight for the medals in Trondheim.

Heavy to run in the forest

tisdag, 20 april, 2010

The snow is melting and I dropped the skiis for good for this season. Today I had some uphill intervalls with Julian Dent in Falun in the ”Killer Hill” slope. Not the best feeling in the legs yet but in one month I think there will be some more speed.

This weekend I did my first orienteering since last year on O-ringen on Swedish ground. Kolmårdskaveln, 1st leg though we lost some fast running guys in the ash… Smola, Sadeckas and Krepsta where suposed to come but they where prevented becouse of Eyjafjallajökull.

Ash…

So first leg for me. Big misstake on the first controll, couldn’t understand the map but it was just to restart and after some more controlls and kilometers later I catched the leading group. At the spectators conroll I was alone. Quite tired at that point after running fast in the forest and lifting my legs, some more adaption needed… I keept the controll and managed to stay in front alone afte some smaller mistakes on the last loop.

This weekend IFK Mora has a camp before 10-mila and we will also run Stigtomtakaveln. Looking forward for some good training and nice snow free terrain and also hoping that the airspace allows some of Mora-Rockets to come;)

France and Spain

tisdag, 30 mars, 2010

So far so good is a suitable explanation of my startup for this season. First five quite easy days in the Madrid area with some of my clubmates in Mora (Mr Jonas ”Ultra” Buud, Michal Smola and running coaches Peter Fredriksson and Rune Larsson). A good ”preecamp” before the trainingcamp in France that prepared my body for running and mapreading togheter called orienteering;)

Clermont-Ferrand, green and uggly, though to begin in

In France I started easy, not so mutch physicly but with the orienteering part. We startet in the vulcanic terrain close to Clermont-Ferrand and it was a green hell for me who hasn’t been running many steps in the forest since last year in august. It feels a little frustrating in the start to be a bit behind but the good part is that I can realy see and feel the improvments;)

Fountainbleu, mutch more runnable, mutch more my kind of terrain

Now I’m into a trainingperiod at home, looking forward. Still a little bit to mutch snow to run in the forrest here so there will be some running on roads and runningbelt instead.

Changing the season

onsdag, 17 mars, 2010

This night I came home from a sunny Spain after 6 days in the Madrid region. Before that I finished 19th in Vasaloppet, this seasons last ski race. A ski season that I’m pleased about, except for some backproblems in the end that stopped me from going fast. Otherwice it was my best season with a 6th place in Swedish Championships in duathlon and a 14th place i the WorldCup, a 1st and a 3rd place in the Swedish Cup.

Now I’m into a training period that started smoothly in Spain and on Friday I’m of to France for 10 more days without snow but with the map;) Looking forward for the coming months to get some good training. One step at a time bringing me closer to my goals…

StafettVasan nästa

tisdag, 2 mars, 2010
