Season opening in Bruksvallarna
Yesterday it was WC-selections for Beitostölen in Sweden. 15 km free technic was on the program, but it was a short 15 km, approximatly 13,5 km according to the GPS. Before the race a was a bit worried because I had a lot of pain in my calves after some indoor training and running belt training this week. On the days before a had to force myself to train due to my legs wasn’t feeling fit at all.
As always it’s a bit tense before the first big race of the season and yesterday was no exeption. The course was 3 loops on a moderate course. I started controlled and it felt ok. After almost two loops Marcus Hellner catched me with half a minute and I got his back. Thought I could follow him to finish but in the second last uphill I got totaly wasted in my legs and I lost from 10th possition to 16th and 20 seconds on hellner from there to finish. Still an ok race, with only seven Swedes infront of me.
Yet I did some test in Trondheim last week telling me I had some training to do untill I’m back on the same level as I was this summer. Feels good to know there is more to gain and especially good to know that I know what to do;)
